Bangladesh Aiming to Import LNG By 2012, Challenges Await

Bangladesh is in need of more natural gas and is therefore aiming to import LNG via floating storage and a regasification unit (FSRU) by 2012. Energy officials from Bangladesh are currently on a series of international roadshows to seek investments for various power projects, including a 3.5 million ton per year LNG receiving terminal and several power plants, an official from state Petrobangla told International Oil Daily Monday during an investor roadshow in Singapore.
