Russia's biggest private oil firm, Lukoil, this week launched output of Euro-4 grade gasoline at its Nizhegorod refinery. The move follows the start-up earlier this month of a catalytic-cracking unit that will allow the re- finery to produce an additional 1.4 million tons/yr of high-quality gasoline and an extra 400,000 tons/yr of diesel, Lukoil said on Wednesday (IOD Sep.15,p9). It added that it plans further upgrades that will enable the refinery to start producing Euro-5 gasoline in the first quarter of 2011.
