摘要

A mixture of copper(I) chloride with imidazolidine-2-thione (SC_3H_6N)2) (M:L::1:1 ratio) in acetonitrile when left undisturbed at room temperature yielded the polymer, {Cu_8(μ_3-SN_2C_3H_6)_4(μ-SN_2C)3H)6))_4(η~1-Cl)_8}_n 1 (pale olive green). The same reaction in 1:2 molar ratio yielded polymer 1 along with a new polymer {Cu_6(μ_3-SC_3H_6N_2)_2(μ-SC_3H_6N_2)_4Cl_2(μ-Cl)_4}_n 2 (colorless). Polymers 1 and 2 have been characterized using elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and single crystal X-ray crystallography. The central core of polymer 1 forms staircase like polymeric chains running diagonally in the ab plane. The closest Cu···Cu contact in Cu_2S_2 core is 2.8327(7) A. The step-like tetranuclear Cu4S2Cl2 core of 2 has Cu···Cu contact of 2.7974(4) A in hetero-bridged Cu(μ-Cl)(μ-S)Cu moiety, and this contact is 2.7553(7) A in homo-bridged Cu(μ-S)_2Cu moiety.
