Ruthenium(VI) and osmium(VI) nitrido complexes with halogenated phenoxide and thiophenoxide ligands

Treatment of [Bu_4~nN][Ru(N)Cl_4] with Na(OR) afforded [Bu_4~nN][Ru(N)(OR)_4] (R = C_6F_5 (1), C_6F_4H (2), C_6Br_5 (3)), whereas that with [Bu_4~nN][Os(N)Cl_4] gave [Bu_4~nN][Os(N)(OR)_3Cl] (R = C_6F_5 (4), C_6F_4H (5), C_6Br_5 (6)). Treatment of [Bu_4~nN][M(N)Cl_4] with Na(SC_6F_4H) and Na(Sxyl) (xyl = 2,6-dimethylphenyl) afforded[Bu_4~nN][M(N)(SC_6F_4H)_4] (M = Ru (7), Os (8)) and [Bu_4~nN][M(N)(Sxyl)_4] (M = Ru (9), Os (10)), respectively. The crystal structures of compounds 1, 6 and 9 have been determined.
