A Swedish nurse who has assisted endangered communities during catastrophes has been awarded the 2007 International Achievement Award bestowed by the International Council of Nurses' (ICN) Florence Nightingale International Foundation. Anneli Eriksson, RN, president of Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in Sweden, was recognized for her outstanding leadership in international nursing. 'Since the beginning of her career, Anneli Eriksson has shown dedication to gettingnurs-ingcare to vulnerable populations worldwide,' said Hiroko Minami, President of ICN and the Florence Nightingale International Foundation (FNIF). 'As the spokesperson for MSF Sweden, she speaks out on the humanitarian valuesofthatorganizationand the importance of access to health care worldwide.'
