摘要

Copper(II) complexes of the formula Cu(amtz)(2)H2O . X(2), (amtz = 2-acetamido-N-(4-methyl-2-thiazolyl); X = NO3, Cl, Br), were prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, IR and electronic spectroscopy, magnetic susceptibility and molar conductivity measurements. The crystal and molecular structure of the nitrate complex was established by X-ray diffraction (monoclinic, space group C2/c, a = 18.800(2), b = 8.231 (2), c = 14.115(2) Angstrom, beta = 111.389(8)degrees, Z = 4, R = 0.042). In all the prepared compounds the ligand acts in a bidentate fashion. In the nitrate complex the copper atom is five-coordinate in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal arrangement with the ligand's oxygen atoms in equatorial positions and the nitrogen atoms of the thiazole rings in axial positions.
