The main factor limiting endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms is the shape of the aneurysmal sac, particularly the width of the neck. In 1992, Jacques Moret hi Fondation Rothschild (Paris, France) began promoting the remodeling technique that has revolutionized the treatment of wide-necked intracranial aneurysms. This technique involves a temporary inflation of a non-detachable balloon in front of the neck of the aneurysm during each coil placement.
