Shot Peening Doubles Component Service Life

The machinery used for soil cultivation is exposed to extreme loads. In order to increase the operating life of wearing parts such as tines, the manufacturer Andersen Steel is using hanger shot blast machines to clean and shot peen them. The machines used in a professional setting for cultivating the land include grubbers, cultivators and stubble processors, which are fitted with vibrating tines. A new plant belonging to Andersen Steel in Poland produces tines of this kind from special arched rolled steel. In contrast to flat steel, the rounded edges of this material prevent cracks from occurring during the forming process.
