Cu_(x)Sn_(y)S_(z)O (CTSO) thin films were deposited from an aqueous solution containing CuSO_(4), SnSO_(4), and Na_(2)S_(2)O_(3) by electrochemical techniques. The deposited films were characterized by Auger electron spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and optical transmission spectroscopy. The photoelectrochemical measurement showed that the films have p-type conduction and photosensitivity. ZnO/CTSO heterojunction solar cells were fabricated. Rectification properties were observed, and the cell showed an efficiency of 4.9 X 10~(-3)percent under AM 1.5 illumination.
