Heat-shrinking tubes in the cable industry for the coupling of power cables are produced by the radiation treatment of polyethylene (PE) articles.The intensity of radiation treatment and the properties of the irradiated articles will in many ways be determined by the properties of the initial PE grades,namely the molecular weight,the molecular weight distribution,the degree of crystallinity,the degree of branching,the production method,etc.
