Plastic waste materials, their collection, sorting, and processing, and equipment

摘要

At the exhibition "Khimiya-2001" ("Chemistry-2000"), a seminar was held that will be of great interest to our readers. The seminar opened with a paper by Professor V. V. Abramov, who analysed the present position concerning the formation, collection, and processing of waste products in Russia. It was pointed out that, in the modern world, there are over 400 different types of plastic waste material. Taking into account the specific properties of polymeric materials, they undergo no decay or corrosion, and the probllem of their recycling is primarily an ecological one. A universal solution to the ecological problem, even in economically developed countries, is yet to be found.
