The stiffness parameters of tyres affect the main service properties of vehicles, such as smoothness of ride, stability, controllability, performance, and fuel economy. When vehicles travel under complex road conditions, their tyres are deformed simultaneously in three mutually perpendicular directions under vertical, lateral, and tangential loads, and here, as the tyres turn, shape distortion and recovery occur.Numerous experimental investigations on differenttypes of vehicle with ultralow-pressure tyres have established that these tyres possess enhanced dynamic properties and high performance. Before the influence of the parameters of newly developed ultralow-pressure tyres on vehicle dynamics can be assessed, it is necessary to know their elastic characteristics. However, experimental investigations to determine the stiffness characteristics of the tyre investigated in the present work (tyre casing OSh-1) have not been examined fully hitherto. To this end, complex laboratory tests of tyre casing OSh-1 1300 x 533-530 were conducted on an SIB-1 bench.
