Production of blanks from thermoplastics for the forming of articles by stamping

In the 1970s,the founder of the Department of Plastics Processing Technology in the D.I.Mendeleev Moscow Chemico-Technological Institute(now the Russian Chemico-Technological Institute),M.S.Akutin,organised research in the department on the development of at that time new methods for producing articles by forming below the melting or glass transition temperature.In the literature these methods were termed "cold"forming methods or "solid-phase"forming [1-4].
