The London, UK based Roskill In formation Services Limited has published a new report, which examines the silicon and ferrosilicon industries.'The Economics of Silicon and Ferrosilicon' (10th edition 2000) states that the two materials are increasingly being consumed in very different end-use application-silicon is used primarily in the manufacture of aluminium alloys and in chemicals such as silicones, while ferrosilicon is consumed in steels and cast iron.
