Problems Associated with Down Stream Sector of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Way out

This study found out the problems associated with the downstream sector of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the way out. Petroleum workers, independent marketers and major marketers were consulted. Findings shown that the distribution of petroleum products through pipeline interlink was not efficient due to vandalization of the petroleum products pipeline. Petroleum products marketers employed the inadequacies of pipeline interlink and diverted fuel to unknown destination. Government dominated the existing importation and distribution of petroleum products. Four refineries were established by government with capacity of 445,000 barrels per day.
