SPECIAL ISSUE IN HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER IN NANOFLUIDS

The research topic of nanofluids has been receiving increased attention. Many researchers have made scientific breakthrough not only in discovering unexpected thermal properties of nanofluids, but also in proposing new mechanisms behind the enhanced thermal properties of nanofluids and thus identifying unusual research opportunities. Nanofluid technology can help to develop better oils and lubricants. Nanofluids are now being developed for medical applications, including cancer therapy and safer surgery. Other possible areas for the application of nanofluid technology include cooling of a new class of computers and other electronic devices for use in military systems and airplanes. Further applications of nanofluid dynamics in porous media include enhanced oil recovery. We are pleased to bring a special issue of the Journal devoted to heat and mass transfer in nanofluids. Significant challenges necessitate multidisciplinary approaches in computational nanofluids. This special issue presents the latest developments and advances in nanoscale modeling, simulation and experiments.
