Why no analytic continuation connects real-time and imaginary-time thermal propagators

We discuss the analytic continuation in thermal field theory. Taking advantage of the geometry of eta-xi spacetime, we explain why direct analytic continuation does not exist between the imaginary-time and real-time thermal propagators. [References: 15]
