We define a road characteristic conversion coefficient (RCCC) based on the lane segments of a crossing angle that consists of a roadway. The RCCC value and relative angle are utilized to find intersection points and classify a roadway type with a straight or curved section. The intersection points can be distinguished as part of a group according to their length and characteristics. The curved group has intersection points of different RCCC values and crossing angles, whereas the straight group has sections of different angles that are less than 2° and has an RCCC value of 0.002 to 0.007. However, the straight group has similar values with stability features. The crossing angle of a curved section is higher than 5°, and the RCCC value is 0.08 to 0.19. The standard deviation and variance of a curved section are 2 to 807 times larger than that of a straight section.
