摘要

Introduction of aquaculture practices in sodic land (37.7 lakh ha) and water condition provide other alternative for income generation and one of the tool for natural resource management in the country. With this view at CSSRI, Karnalfarm, three ponds(0.1ha, 0.2 ha & 0.4 ha) were used for aquaculture operations during 2009-10. These ponds were in 1st, 4th and 3rd years of different mode offish culture operation. The ponds were stocked in the ratio of Catla (30%), Rohu (30%), Mrigal (25%) Common carp(5%) Grass carp (10%) at the rate 10,000fingerlings/ha. The stocking size of fishes were 8-10g. The fish harvest data collected after one year culture period from the three ponds revealed that the total production offish was 2.98-3.86 Mgha~(-1) year~(-1) (2.98-3.86 tonhar~(-1) year~(-1)). The species recovery from the these ponds after harvest were found in the order of Cyprinus carpio
