摘要

Crabs were exposed to sub lethal concentration of copper sulphate, zinc sulphate and cadmium sulphate. Before exposure they were starved for 24 hours to eliminate nutritional effect. After 24,48, 72, and 96 hours exposure time period the rate of oxygen consumption and total oxygen consumption studied. It was found that hoo metallic salts zinc sulphate and cadmium sulphate induce almost similar effects upon the rate of oxygen consumption and total oxygen consumption in crabs after their treatment .Theoxygen consumption in the animals exposed to zinc sulphate and cadmium sulphate steeply decreased up to 96 hours. But in case of copper sulphate oxygen consumption was gradually decreased upto 48 hours and then it slightly increased at 72 hours and again it decreased at 96 hours.
