The field investigation ivas carried out during the rainy seasons of 2003 and 2004 to assess the effect of plant geometry and fertility levels on yield; nutrient concentration and their uptake, available nutrient status in soil and economics of sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] genotypes. CSH14 proved superior in grain yield, N uptake by total and total N uptake, P uptake by grain over CSV 15 and SPY 1430. The per cent increases to the magnitude of 21.61 & 36.62,50.79 & 71.76, 14.45 & 28.74 and 28.91 & 4958 over CSV 15 and SPV1430. CSV 15 recorded maximum fodder and biological yield, N and P uptake by fodder, net returns and B/C ratio over SPV 1430 and CSH 14. Among plant geometry, 45 x 15 cm recorded significantly higher aforesaid parameters than 45x10 and 30x10 cm. The wider geometry recorded significantly higher grain yield and narrow geometry (30x10 cm) recorded higher fodder yield. With respect to fertility levels, application of 100% RDF recorded significantly higher in yields, N and P uptake by grain, fodder and total uptake by crop, available N, P and K status in soil, net returns and B/C ratio of sorghum over 50 and 75% RDF. Application of 100% RDF recorded significantly higlier in grain yield, net returns and B/Cratio over 50 and 75%RDF to the magnitude of38.96 & 14.97, 37.32 & 13.96 and24.48 & 8.70 per cent and this level was found at par with 125% RDF.
