Experiment was conducted to study the effect of growth promoting substances on fruit retention and yield of acid lime. Foliar application of urea (1, 2, 3 per cent), GA_3 (25,50,100ppm), NAA (10, 20, 30 ppm)and 2,4-D(10,15, 20ppm) were sprayed at fullbloom and pea stage of fruit, significantly increased fruit retention percentage at various stages of fruit growth and development over control. Maximum (63.89) fruit retention percentage was noted with the application of NAA 20 ppm at harvest followedby Urea 2 per cent (53.15). Among various treatments, minimum fruit drop was noted with 20 ppm NAA followed by Urea 2 per cent in all three waves of fruit drop. Highest (34 Kg) fruit yield per tree was recorded with the application of 20 ppm NAA which was found to be significantly superior over control and all the otlier treatments, followed by Urea 2 per cent(30Kg).
