Record Interest in Norway Bid Round

Norway has received a record number of applications for its latest offshore exploration licensing round, according to the country’s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. Norway’s Awards in Predefined Areas (APA) scheme, which is the country’s annual licensing round for the best known areas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf, saw applications for new acreage from a total of 39 companies — approximately 20 greater than those received in APA 2014, the previous record year.
