摘要

Codeposition of Ca and B on various Single crystal substrates was carried out by MBE technique. A new, calcium boride CaB3 was epitaxially grown on Al2O3(0001) with substrate temperature T-s = 500 degrees C. Structural characterization by RHEED and X-ray diffraction indicated that CaB3 has a hexagonal cell with lattice parameters a = 4.088 +/- 0.023 angstrom and c = 4.098 +/- 0.002 angstrom. No evidence for superconductivity was found down to 2K. (c) 2005 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
