Mechanoactivation of Ni—Al Blends in a Ball Mill: Influence of Ball Size

Despite ever growing interest in the effect of mechanical activation (MA) in ball mills on combustion of green SHS mixtures [1—8], the influence of ball size first raised in [3] still remained in shade. Since this aspect may turn out significant for some technological applications, in this work we explored the feasible effect ofball size on the parameters of activated blends and SHS reaction by using Ni—Al blends as an example.
