Purification of immunoglobulin G of the Indian buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) on protein A sepharose.

A procedure for purification of buffalo IgG is described. The serum immunoglobulins were prepared by 3 successive precipitations of serum with 18, 12 and 12% anhydrous sodium sulfate. The IgG was extracted by affinity chromatography of serum immunoglobulins over protein-A sepharose, and then eluted, dialysed and concentrated. There was no indication of contamination with other classes of immunoglobulins.
