摘要

The phosphors of high luminous intensity for flat panel display (FPD), compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) applications must have high purity, single phase uniform particle size and clean surfaces, though lot of work has been carried out on Y2O3:Eu~(3+) red nanophosphor, synthesis of nanophosphor with high purity, single phase uniform particle size still remains a challenge. This paper describes synthesis of YaO3:Eu~(3+) and Y_(2-y-x)Al_y O3:Eu_x~(3+)red nanophosphors by wet chemical and nitrate combustion method and discusses effect of sintering temperature on photoluminescent properties of Y_(2-y-x)Al_y O3:Eu_x~(3+)in comparison with Y2O3:Eu~(3+). Photoluminescence characteristics of Y2O3:Eu~(3+) and Y_(2-y-x)Aly O3:Eu_x~(3+) nanophosphors for maximal luminescence were investigated through emission spectroscopy, XRD, and scanning electron microscopy.
