摘要

Background: The intention of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) initiative is to provide a standardized, objective measure of patient perceptions of their hospital care. The survey consists of 18 questions that specifically deal with patient perspectives and comprise 8 topics: communication with doctors and nurses, responsiveness of hospital staff, pain management, communication about medicines, discharge information, and cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment.
