Rheumatic manifestations are the most frequent extra-intestinal findings of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), occurring in up to 62% of patients.[1] They can be diagnosed before, simultaneously, or after the diagnosis of IBD. The introduction of therapy with tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α blockers has generated much interest due to their ability to control symptoms and signs of articular and bowel inflammation.[2]
