AimIn osteoarthritis chondrocytes, matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) and their inhibitors are induced by interleukin (IL)-1beta or tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha and balanced by inhibitors, but their messenger RNA (mRNA) expression has not been studied in individual cells.
