Limitations of LNG Megaprojects Start to Show

LNG stakeholders are seeing the limitations of “megaprojects" due to their high costs and complexity. The projects do little to lower the prices consumers pay, or meet escalating global demand for natural gas. The focus of LNG developers should instead be decarbonization, and promoting offtake-contracting models that can underpin major capital investments, panelists told the World Petroleum Congress in Houston this week.
