摘要

We read with enthusiasm "Evaluation of prenatal-onset osteochon-drodysplasias by ultrasonography: A retrospective and prospective analysis" by Krakov et al. [2008]. The article presents a well-designed study with an extensive data set. Interestingly, the results exemplify the relatively slow progress seen with the in utero diagnoses of bone dysplasias. The complexities of such diagnoses have been previously explored and an attempt to develop a protocol for more accurate prenatal diagnosis of osteochondrodysplasias has been published by the American Journal of Medical Genetics [Escobar et al., 1990]. The Krakov et al. article does not call attention to a new problem but an old problem that requires additional attention and solutions.
