RSE-M. A general presentation of the French codified flaw evaluation procedure

This paper describes the flaw evaluation procedures in the French RSE-M code, which describes the rules for in-service inspection of nuclear power plant components. Some specific novel features of the flaw evaluation procedures are described including the method for estimating J for combined thermal and mechanical loads, treatment of small-scale yielding and stress intensity factor solutions. Finally, the paper summarises ongoing work areas.
