Application of the European flaw assessment procedure SINTAP to pipes

The recently developed European flaw assessment procedure SINTAP is applied to a total of 97 full-scale pipe tests with through-wall and surface cracks subjected to internal pressure and four point bending. Based on the experimental data various analysis levels of SINTAP are discussed with respect to their potential for predicting the failure loads and the margins of conservatism.
