A novel interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) of poly (ethylene glycol),poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(acrylamide) was prepared and its potential for sorption and delivery of human blood was evaluated.The influence of chemical composition of the IPN on the release dynamics of blood was also investigated.On the basis of the Pick's equation the diffusional exponent (n) was evaluated for different IPN compositions and tentative mechanisms of blood transport were worked out.Effect of pH of the release medium on the released amount of blood was also studied.
