This paper is concerned with K{sub}r-L{sub}r failure assessment diagrams when they are applied toa flaw in the vicinity of a stress concentration. Earlier work by the author has highlighted the strongeffect of geometrical parameters on the K{sub}r-L{sub}r failure assessment curve for such asituation. The earlier work had a particular focus on the small L{sub}r regime, which was studied viause of the equivalent elastic crack procedure. The present paper proceeds to the other extreme andfocuses on the large L{sub}r regime for which, as with the small L{sub}r regime, there is a strongeffect of geometrical parameters on the failure assessment curve.
