Antimicrobial grades enhance acetal use in wet conditions

A FAMILY of antimicrobial acetal copolymers that includes two injection moulding grades and an extrusion grade has been introduced by Ticona. They are targeted at applications calling for high-performance polymers in environments where heat, moisture and nutrients foster bacterial and fungal growth. These Anti-Crobe grades are produced from Ticona's Hostaform and Celcon materials, and greatly inhibit microbial proliferation compared to conventional acetals.
