“Aloha”: An In‐House Nursing Home Vacation

This article describes a weeklong in‐house “vacation” that was held at a Department of Veterans Affairs nursing home. The author provides the guidelines used to plan, implement, and evaluate the project. The in‐house nursing home vacation was successful, as measured by the number of residents in attendance, their positive evaluations, and their desire to repeat the experience.
