Peculiarities of Sympathoadrenal Response to Psychoemotional Stress under Hypoxia in the Elderly with Physiological and Accelerated Aging of Respiratory System

The peculiarities of sympathoadrenal response to hypoxic and psychoemotional stress in practically healthy young subjects and the elderly with physiological and accelerated aging of the respiratory system were studied. It has been shown that the response of the sympathoadrenal system to psychoemotional stress is more expressed with aging. However, the elderly with different types of the respiratory system aging demonstrate similar response of the sympathoadrenal system to psychoemotional stress. In the elderly, psychoemotional stress in combination with hypoxic stress results in the activation of the sympathoadrenal system. At that, in the elderly with accelerated aging of the respiratory system, the sympathoadrenal response is more expressed, compared to physiological aging.
