The Long Term Evolution (LTE) has adopted Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) for downlink to transmit data from base station to mobile terminal and Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) for uplink to transmit the data from mobile terminal to base station. Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is the major issue at the user terminal. So, SC-FDMA has become the preferred technology for uplink as its PAPR is low. This paper discusses about the reduction of PAPR in Wavelet based SC-FDMA using pulse shaping filters such as Raised cosine Filter (RC) and Rooted Raised Cosine Filter (RRC). The PAPR value is also checked with varying values of Roll off factor of pulse shaping filters and by using different modulation schemes in different Wavelets.
