A emission reduction challenge of the petroleum based fuel, JCAP (Japan clean air program) status

The recent activities and the STEP II program of the Japan Clean Air Program (JCAP) are described. JCAP entered the STEP II Study. The gasoline program includes low emission direct injection gasoline with several S-level fuels and mileage accumulation tests. The diesel part of the program is focused in CR-DPF and De-NO, system and includes mileage accumulation tests. This paper also describes the DPF retrofit study for heavy-duty diesel engines.
