A SINGLE screw extruderfor PET thermoforming sheet production has been developed by Battenfeld Extrusionstechnik as a cost-effective alternative to extruder/dryer/crystalliser combinations or high output twin screw extruders.Single screw extruders are not really suitable for processing PET without a pre-dryer because they lack the surface/volume ratio for driving out moisture during plasticising.
