Editorial

摘要

Whilst thinking about this editorial there was much debate locally around what types of evidence we use to inform our practice. Whilst much of the discussion revolved around the 'hierarchy of evidence' and the issues concerning investment in research this was balanced against its value and direction. The cost of initiating randomised control trials or cohort studies can be prohibitive to all except mainstream research academics who acquire grants, yet gathering patient views and stories can reveal much about care especially at a local level.
