AN electrically-driven mould carrier has been developed by Krauss-Maffei to deliver shorter cycle times than hydraulic units by overlapping movements.The new carrier is opened and closed by a belt drive capable of high speed movements,with the drive shaft also acting as a constant velocity shaft to ensure exactly parallel movements.K-M says the simple design is insensitive to shock or vibration.
