摘要

A cast material with high impact resistance was developed to produce lightweight steering knuckles. Static strength and impact resistance are contrary properties, however, both properties were able to be increased simultaneously by adjusting the chemistry and cooling rates in spheroidal graphite cast iron. The key techniques are control of both material structures and nodule count of the product surface and inside.
