Weight reduction technology for commercial vehicle

摘要

Truck being the main transportation nowadays in Japan, the weight reduction of the truck chassis and body improves transporting efficiency, which' produces a good effect upon the solution of environmental and traffic problems. We have developed some techniques which enable to realize rationally light structures satisfying the structural requirements, strength and rigidity. We present these techniques classified into the following three categories: (1) load and evaluation, (2) structure and design and (3) material and production engineering.
