The method or practice of learning about a subject, such as palliative nursing care, by reading or conducting literature-based research, can be made more enjoyable and effective by the application of skills that allow the reader to better assimilate the information. This month's Web Words continues the series of articles pertinent to education and learning (but relevant to all aspects of personal and professional life) with a topic that may be of particular interest to practitioners that have recently enrolled on a course of further or higher study or those contemplating doing so.
