BASF Is claiming a cautious record in bottle blowing with an experimental bottle produced in its BX 5380 polystyrene by bottle systems supplier Krones.The caution comes with describing the 7.5 g bottle as the lightest half litre polystyrene bottle ever. Given that polystyrene is not a mainstream bottle material this could come across as a hollow (no pun intended) victory. But compare that with the 9.9 g of Sidel's award winning No Bottle 500 ml PET water bottle and it takes on a more interesting perspective.
