摘要

Ethanol is considered as a leading alternative fuel for automotive application because of its ability to reduce the air pollution and cost of the fuel. In this paper the experimental investigation of four stroke single cylinder petrol engine is carried out to analyze the engine performance. Engine performance is determined using different blend ratios of ethanol with gasoline (E0, E10, E20, E40, E60, E80, and E100) to evaluate the most suitable blend. Performance tests are conducted for power, torque, total fuel consumption, B.S.F.C. and Brake & Volumetric efficiencies by using different ethanol gasoline blends on volume basis and engine speed at 2500 rpm. Results compared with the pure gasoline. Result shows that blending of ethanol with gasoline increases total fuel consumption, brake power, Torque, brake thermal efficiency and B.S.F.C. Result shows that E40 is the best suitable blend.
