Small injection machines and all-electrics boost Sumitomo Demag

Orders for Sumitomo Demag's smaller injection moulding machines built at its Wiehe plant in Germany have climbed, aided by a growth in demand for all-electric machines. By the end of April, says the company, the order intake had doubled in a year-on-year comparison. Since Wiehe became Sumitomo Demag's electric machine centre in 2009 it has benefited from increasing sales in all-electrics, which the company says have risen disproportionately when measured against the overall sales figures.
